Methinks the Lord has a message for us! We have attended 3 different churches lately and all have preached basically the same lesson. Hmmm....I'm pretty sure the Lord knew that if we only heard it once we would dismiss it as a message for someone else (surely not us), twice, call it a coincidence, three times?? Kind of hard to ignore!
The pastor this morning put it in the most plain language. Just because things aren't going the best (in our opinion) doesn't mean we aren't where God wants us to be. It's easy to encourage others that are going through a tough spot...quoting scriptures and platitudes, but when it's us....not so easy. We start to think...hmmm maybe I misunderstood God! Maybe I really wasn't supposed to take this direction. After all, if I'm in the center of God's will all will go perfectly, right? When things go wrong, I must be in the wrong, right? WRONG! It's taken me a while, but I think I'm figuring it out! (I have a particularly thick skull--thus the reason it took 3 sermons to get me thinking in the right direction).
We have been through some big changes in the last couple years (several of them WAY out of our comfort zone). But, God has a plan for all of it. He has been leading us each step of the way, and we're trusting that He'll continue to do so.
PS Tim wanted me to let you all know we will be going home for a 3 day weekend this coming weekend! We ususally don't know this far in advance, but they're going to be adding a generator to our truck and it has to be scheduled in advance (bonus for us)!

Another Friend is Getting Older
Happy Birthday, Andrea! Thanks for being such a great friend! I enjoy those cards you send, the talks on the phone, and of course, those adorable daughters of yours!
Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

It's a Small World After All
My brother, Jamie is a truck driver too. We keep in touch thanks to cell phones. The other day we discovered we were not only in the same state, but we were going to cross paths. We both had some extra time, so we stopped and had lunch together.
His truck is slightly bigger than ours. :)

Happy Belated Birthday!
I'm such a terrible friend. Not only did I not blog about my friend's birthday on the right day....I also didn't call her until the day after! Oops...hopefully she'll forgive me.
Anyone that knows me very well knows that Amber and I have been good friends for a Looong time.
We were partners in crime in college. Now that we live a long way apart we have to do our criminal activities solo and then fill each other in by phone. :) We still manage to get together on occasion (and as you can see, we don't waste time--we get in lots of shopping).
It's hard to believe that my dear friend is about to become a mommy! It seems like just yesterday we were planning our futures (marrying brothers and living in a duplex). We always said that when we're old and we're both widows (for some reason we were always sure we'd outlive whoever we married--sorry Tim and Bob) we were going to live in a cute little house on stilts on Jupiter Island (apparently the fellas are going to have great life insurance). Then we were going to totter around and entertain anyone who would listen to us. :)
Well, life doesn't always happen the way you plan it (now that we're both married I don't think either of us wants to outlive our spouses). But, one thing is for certain...I know we'll always be friends. It's so wonderful to know that when I need someone to talk to, or just to keep me awake when I'm driving in the wee hours of the night....I know that when I call....she'll be there. (sniff-kind of reminds me of a hallmark card).
Thanks, Amber for being such a great friend. Oh, and Happy Birthday!

Fredricksburg, VA
We are waiting as patiently as possible for our next load. We would like to get a great long run! We know the Lord will provide! I am working on a couple of craft projects while we are waiting. I attempted cross stitching for the first time yesterday...I think I'm getting the hang of it (it helps if you read the directions). I didn't realize you are supposed to separate the strands of yarn. :) I am also working on a couple of afghans. That is a little more in my comfort zone.
My mom and dad are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this weekend. My brothers and sister and I are sending them to NY for the weekend. They are going to visit some of their friends and eat at their favorite resturant (Eddie's).
40 years seems like such a long time (especially compared to the 6 years Tim and I have been married).
I love you Mom and Dad! Have a wonderful time! :)

Snow in April??
It has been quite cold everywhere we've been the last couple weeks! Especially up in Montreal, Canada. As you can see, there was snow on the ground. What you can't see is that it was snowing and sleeting out too. I like cold weather, but not icy roads!
We managed to get back here to Lebanon, PA for the weekend, so we get to see family (and do laundry). :)

Fabulous Family
This album is powered by BubbleShare - Add to my blog
We were able to spend some time with Tim's brother, Jeff, his wife, Heather, his parents, and Heather's family for Easter Dinner Sunday. Of course, I really enjoyed getting to hold my niece, Katie. She's a little doll (like her Aunt Sharron).

Fabulous Friends
Landen and Rylan
Sabryn and Rylan
We were able to spend some time with our Pastor/friends, Charles and Leora Schenck. We have "adopted" their kids and LOVE to see them when we can. I haven't been able to convince them to let us snatch one of their little ones for keeps, though. :)
If you haven't had a chance, take a look at Leora's blog. I am continually amazed at the talents she possesses. God has given her many special gifts, one of which is her ablity to work with Teenagers. She is building an amazing ministry with bus teens! I'm sure she would appreciate your prayers as she works with them. Many of those young people had never heard the gospel story before this past Easter. WOW! What an awsome responsibility! But, if you read her blog very often you will pick on the love and passion she has for this ministry. She's doing an AWESOME job!
Thanks, Leora!!

FedEx
Well, Tim and I have taken a big step and have switched to hauling for FedEx Custom Critical. At first things will be pretty much the same as our other Expedite Company, but after 30 days we will be moving into the White Glove Division (oooohhhh...) We will be hauling some high security loads. We've been told there will be some interesting loads.
We are in orientation today and tomorrow.
I will try to get back online tomorrow and post some pictures of our weekend at home! We had a great time, but spent sooo much time at home that we had to drive all night last night to get here in time for our orientation this morning. We are SO very tired!

Truck Update
Our truck has somewhat recovered from it's illness! It's not perfect, but no more overheating. :) We are now on our way to Fort Worth, TX. It was REALLY nice to stay in the motel over the weekend, but our checking out is telling us we need to get some miles under our belt quick!
PS if you would like to contact us via email, you can do so at thenewlyweds2000@yahoo.com

Church
We never know where we're going to be come the weekends. Usually, I look on the internet to find a church in the area. That almost always works. But, not this weekend. As I already told you we have a sick truck. That means we are temporarily pedestrians. I found a church address online that was only 1 block from our motel, so we set out yesterday morning to visit it. Unfortunately, what we found was an empty church building. We walked around for an hour looking for another church, but couldn't find one. So....we went back to our room and attended Hobe Sound Bible Church via the internet. We even saw some of our blogging friends! :)
