Meet the Sniders

Tim and I were happy to be able to stop and visit our friends, Chad and Aimee Snider. We were treated to a very scrumptious dinner (cooked by Chad himself) and delightful conversation. We really enjoyed our visit with them and hope to get a chance to stop in again sometime.

We especially enjoyed making a new friend while we were there.....Dixie. She's a wonderful little hostess...very entertaining.
Thanks Chad and Aimee for a Great evening!

Joseph Andrew Howell

Meet Grandma Harrison...as you can see she's very happy. :)

I had to post these pictures of my handsome new "nephew". Unfortunately I won't get to see him in person for a while, but at least I can enjoy frequent updates thanks to the modern age of internet and cell phones.

More Pictures from Lilac Festival

For those of you that really like lilacs...I'm posting a few more of the pictures I took. I included a few of the other flowers we saw today too. :)

Lilac Festival

We dropped off a load in Rochester, NY yesterday. When I told my friend, Andrea, where we were she told us we should go to the Lilac festival they were having locally. We called my aunt and uncle that live nearby to see about meeting them for lunch (we found out they were planning to come into town for the festival), so we all went together. There were so many beautiful lilac trees and bushes. I had no idea they came in so many colors and sizes. I took lots of pictures, but the sun was so bright I don't think the pics do the colors justice.

We Are Now Certifiable! :)

We just received our White Glove certification. This includes being certified to haul radmat (radioactive material) and explosives. Look out world, here we come! Now that we are a part of the White Glove division we will be hauling some interesting loads from Museum and art pieces to secret government loads. I will tell about some of them in future blogs. I will be unable to tell about some of the government loads due to National Security.
We are still waiting for our new truck. It will have a refridgerated box a lift gate and many other fancy gadgets. Tim is very excited. It is a 2008 model and is still on the assembly line. Hopefully we will be getting it in about 2 weeks.

Sneaking Out Under the Cover of Darkness

We're finally getting out of TX!! We will have to drive all night to get to Kansas City by tomorrow morning. After that we have to head to OH for an extra training class at FEDEX. Hopefully this is the last we'll be seeing of TX for a while! :)

Still in TX

We can't seem to get away from this state lately! We've been up and down the interstate within TX and even out to a couple other states, but then we get sent right back here! Oh well, I can't complain...at least we're getting miles. :)

I am often asked if we get bored sitting in the truck all the time. The answer would be a resounding YES if all we did was sit in here! But, thankfully I have a patient, kind, and understanding husband. He lets me find places to go and things to do nearby and we get out and wander around.

Recently, we found an outlet mall. I really WAS planning to just walk around, enjoy the pretty weather and window shop. I'm not all that impressed with name brand items...I look for quality not particularly labels. Anywho....we came across a Christian book outlet of sorts. Every book in the store was $5.00. Oh boy, oh boy. Poor Tim! I was like a kid let loose in a candy store. I did try to hold myself back, really I did! I was very selective. I decided I would just make a note of this location and plan to come back when I haven't already spent all my allowance. I finally managed to drag myself from the store with minimal damage to my pocketbook and lo and behold at the other end of the shopping center there was a Christian bookstore going out of business! I had to step in for at least a few minutes so I could "save some more money". :) I'm glad Tim is patient! It doesn't hurt that he loves to read almost as much as I do.

This weekend we are in San Antonio. I'm not sure what we'll do this evening (besides laundry). Tomorrow, I'm hoping to get a chance to visit the same church we went to last time we were here. It is a small United Methodist Church. They were very friendly and we really enjoyed the preaching and singing last time we were there.
